Rosy the rain drop

 One rainy day rosy fell to the point where the river Thames starts. As she popped her head out of the cold water she looked around in wonder at her strange new scenery. Towering trees, and a peaceful spring bubbling up from the ground. Small animals bounce around looking for food. Just as rosy had landed she was swept off down the river. Little did she know this was the start of a great adventure. 

Rosy held her breath as the strong current ripped her down the upper course of the river. After a while the river started to change. The bead of the river started to get wider and the current wasn't as strong. Large open field full of lush green grass covered the land around her. Rosy started to notes animals, much bigger this time grazing on the grass.  

They looked harmless enough so she floated over to take a look.

Rosy watched in awe as the large black and white beast wandered over to the edge of the river bank. It lowered its head to take a sip of the fresh river water. Suddenly a strong current started to pull rosy closer and closer to the drinking cow's mouth. Rosy started to panic. She paddled with all her might against the strong current. Rosy thought that this was the end until the cow lifted its big furry head out of the water and the current stopped.

Rosy started to float through bigger sitties. The water in the river started to get warmer. Bits of plastic and glass started to float past her rosy felt very disappointed at what the humans had done to her river. Suddenly, Rosy heard a loud roar a little way up the river. The noise got louder and louder until around the bend speed 3 red jet boats. The smoke from their engans  choked Rosy's lungs. The boats flew past her leaving a large sweeping wake behind. Rosy was swept up by the boat's propeller and flung hi in the air with all the other little water droplets. She hit the grassy riverbank hard and slid back into the water. Rosy swam as fast as she could until the sounds of the boats had gurgled away in the water. Finally she had some peace and quiet.  

Rosy reach the senator of london. She saw the beautiful lights of the city glimmering in the night. It reminded her of her home in the clouds with all the beautiful stars twinkling  in the sky. Amazingly she saw 3 people on the side of the river picking up rubbish. This is the first step to a better future.

Finally Rosy reached the sea. The sight of the huge deep ocean made her heart pump. The cool sult water was a big relief from the polluted city. She saw many different kinds of fish and shells. Finally Rosy was free.

Chapter chat 4

 What animal did katniss kill first?: The first animal katniss killed was a rabbet.

  Why did people at the Hob accept Katniss? because her father was a very respected person and people wanted her fresh meat.

What reason does Katniss come up with for why Peeta is being kind to her? He is trying to look kind and scared but in the game he will go crazy and kill everyone.

What did Katniss do to keep herself and her family alive? She went into the woods and hunted and gathered to provide for her family.

What skill does Katniss show off to Haymitch?  She throughs a knife at the wall but it hit the middle bord of the window making her look good.

 Katniss gets angry with her mother while saying goodbye - why? Because she has to make sure her mother will look after prim properly.

Effie angers Katniss during dinner, so what does Katniss do to purposely annoy her? She eats with her hands and wipes her hands on the table cloth.

What does Madge give to Katniss and insist that she wear? A golden mockingjay ring to pin on her dress.

Are regular people allowed to travel from one District to another? No only the rich people from the capital.

This is my hunger games post. This term we are reading the hunger games by suzanne collins and each week we do a chapter chat. A chapter is where we answer 4 questions about our chapter.This week we are doing chapter 3. It is very fun and makes us think deeper about our text.

Weekly reflection week 3

 The highlight of my week was finding out about us buying the pool. Today we were told that the town pool was being sold and that we might buy  it. We have to make a plan of what we are going to do with it.

This week I found tek chellinging. For tek we had to measure and draw 3d shapes and it was very hard to get the 3d effect right.

This week i lernt about place value. We lernt about numbers below zero and what their place values are.

Next week i am looking forward to swimming sports next week. We have our school swimming sports next week and we are all pumped for it to begin.

Word of the week

 

This is my word of the week post. It shows what company looks and sounds like. 

Weekly reflection: week 1

 At the start of the week I felt very excited to see all my friends again. I was also a bit nervous going into a new class with new people.

The highlight of my week has been catching up with all my mates after the 6 week holidays. We have all been away from school for 6 weeks and it was really cool to see what they had all been up to.

Something I found challenging this week was our maths knowledge check. once we got to level 3 and 4 it started to get really tricky. The questions went from easy to estream really fast and i was stuck on quite a few.

I am really looking forward to swimming training next week. I have been looking forward to swimming the hole summer and Tuesday is our first day. Swimming training is going to be quite short this year so we need to practise hard.

Camping

 Slam! went the door as we lept out of the truck.The smell of fresh pine needles and clean air filled my nose. The day of our family camping trip had finally arrived and we were all amped to have a good time.

As we unloaded the tent and cooking kit me and my sister started to have a look around. The campsite was a small patch of grass surrounded in pine trees. A small river trickled along the outskirts of the camp and flowed off into the forest. 

Once the tent was out of the tuck we started to put it up. I unpacked the poles and stuck them together to make the frame. We folded the fly over the poles and wala, our tent was compleet. 

After our camp was set up we went exploring through the bush.  The wind blew pinecones from the trees and sent them tumbling to the ground. However me and my sister made a very fun game out of this.

Each time a pinecone fell we would both try to catch it.

We played this game for hours until one hit me in the head.

That night we made a little campfire and toasted marshmallows with small twigs that we found on the ground.

The fire sent little sparks flying into the air that looked like little fireflies.

It was the best camping trip ever.

Maths game

This is my hi score on a 100 second math game. The aim of the game is to answer as many times tables in 100 seconds. My score was 36.

• What did I enjoy this week? This week i enjoyed going to teck. Each week we go to the collage to do teck. We are doing metal work and i just finished making my deer.

• What was one success I have had and why? One success i have had this week is getting 40 out of 40 in our school fundraiser quiz. There were 20 RE questions and 20 general knowledge questions.

• What is something that I found challenging and why? This week I found playing guitar at mass hard because i didn't know any of the songs.

• What is one thing I have learned? This week i have learned that jesus real name was joshua.

• What is something I am looking forward to next week? Next week i am looking forward to our school athletics competition

My favorite brand is ridgeline. Ridgeline make a variety of outdoor clothing such as beanies, jackets and     T shirts. This brand is my favorite because you can use these cloths for many outdoor activities.

My holiday

 Scotts Point Adventure

Vroom! Went the truck as we sped down the sandy beach. With fishing rods, bait and tackle box on board we were all set for the long drive to the end of 90 Mile Beach. The rough water crashed onto the salty shore sending a loud boom across the empty beach. An hour had passed since we had first started the drive, and finally the large jagged shape of Scotts Point had started to come into view.

Once we had arrived at our destination I leapt out of the truck onto the soft damp sand. The sun shone onto the clear ocean making it sparkle like a diamond. I looked around in wonder at the majestic cliffs and the sparkling ocean, this moment was too good to pass. Suddenly my peace was broken by our two crazy dogs rampaging around the beach. Their loud barks echoed around the walls of the towering cliffs. Once everybody was out of the truck we grabbed all the gear we could carry and started the walk to our fishing spot.

After a short walk over the barnacle covered rocks we made it to our spot. The waves washed in and out of the rockpools causing the seaweed to sway in the current.I got myself settled, stuck some bait onto my hook and cast my line far into the sea. After a while I started to get bored. Aimlessly staring at a rod waiting for a fish to grab my bait really drains my attention span, so I packed away my rod and went searching for something to do.  

As I looked through the little pools of water I started to notice small fish darting in and out of the bull kelp which gave me an idea. I ran back over the rocks to grab the handline. I spent the rest of my day catching and releasing fish while all the adults stayed and fished.

As the sun set over the beach we all started to get tired. With no fish in the bag and empty stomachs we were all ready to go home. Even though we had no fish it was still a great adventure.

 

Weekly reflection

 What did I enjoy this week? This week I enjoyed seeing my friends. We have just come back from the school holidays and it was really cool to see my mates again.

What is one success I have had this week? A success I have had this week was athletics. I have improved on my sprints so much from last year.

Something I found challenging? Something I found challenging was trying to jump with my left leg on hi jump. We had to practise both legs.

Something I have learnt? Something I have learned is all the different parts of a Mariah.

We did a task on it this week.

What is something I am looking forward to next week? Next week I am looking forward to athletic training.

We have a comp coming up and we need a lot of training.

• What did I enjoy this week? This week i enjoyed watching Mulan with father Larry. We put newspaper over every single window to make it as dark as possible.

• What was one success I have had and why? A success I have had this week is making it in for the Northland film festival. We have been shooting all our scenes for 3 weeks now and we finally won.

• What is something that I found challenging and why? This week i found completing my contract very challenging. Next week to get it done intime i need to focus more.

• What is one thing I have learned? This week i have learned the parts of a spoken word poem. You can see what they are on my spoken word slide.

• What is something I am looking forward to next week? I am looking ford to Maori language week. We have games and challenges throughout the entire week.

• How have I shown the value of Pono this week? I have showing the value pono by helping people with there clay art.
